Adding a 2nd Worship Experience, Pt.5
Posted by: | CommentsOn Sunday, April 10th we will launch 2 new worship times at The Dialogue Church: 9am & 11am. Our goal is to launch a few weeks before Easter, giving our regulars a couple of weeks to find their new worship time and prepare to invite their friends & family on Easter, Sunday, April 24th at 9am & 11am.
With every step you take as a leader there will be faith, excitement, anxiety, fear, questions, confusion, and even resistance from those you are taking on the journey with you. I’d like to share some of the key reasons to add a 2nd worship experience.
Here is reason #5:
5. To MAINTAIN MOMENTUM!
Momentum is a leader’s best friend. When you have momentum good things look great, and bad things don’t look so bad! A common mistake is thinking that adding a 2nd worship experience will create a momentum, but don’t add a 2nd worship experience if you don’t have momentum.
Adding a 2nd worship experience doesn’t create momentum, but it can sustain momentum. If you aren’t growing in one worship experience, then don’t add a 2nd. Don’t try to replicate what isn’t healthy; you will only breed more death. Only reproduce what is living, healthy, and growing!
May this year be the GREATEST YEAR OF FAITH for The Dialogue Church!
I believe the BEST IS YET TO COME! I believe Jesus will change more lives this year than all of our previous years combined. I believe Jesus will more than double last year’s growth & life change! May this year be your GREATEST YEAR OF FAITH!

Here is reason #4:
4. To ACT IN FAITH!
In Matthew 16:18, Jesus has already promised to BUILD HIS CHURCH! BUT We need to do what we can do, and trust God to do what only He can do – change lives!
Hebrews 11:6 says, “It’s impossible to please God without faith.” So, let’s set goals that are RISKY & REQUIRE GOD to step in and show up in big ways! Let’s expect great things from God, and attempt great things for God!
Last year’s successes won’t produce this year’s successes, we must act in faith and trust God to do even more!
We aren’t going to let bricks and mortar hinder the move of God! I don’t know exactly where our next move will be, what address we’ll be at or what exactly will happen with our current lease! But I do know that Jesus continues to change lives every single week and if we are asking God to double His Church in 2011 then WHY IN THE WORLD WOULDN’T WE ACT IN FAITH BY STARTING “HIS” 2ND WORSHIP EXPERIENCE!
If We don’t START IT, we can’t really expect God to FILL IT!
So, let’s stop sowing seeds of doubt and fear about the future, but instead sow seeds of faith and expectation for what Jesus has already promised would happen, “AND UPON THIS ROCK, I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, AND THE GATES OF HELL WILL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT.”
The Church of Jesus Christ is BUILT BY JESUS, FOR JESUS, AND WHEN SHE IS LOYAL TO JESUS SHE IS COMPLETELY & TOTALLY UNSTOPPABLE!
When the church of Jesus Christ is at her best, there is nothing better! I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I do know this, JESUS WILL BUILD HIS CHURCH & I WANT IN ON IT!
The local church is the hope of the world, because the local church is the only agent prescribed by God to declare the gospel and make disciples!

3. To DEVELOP MORE LEADERS!
More ministry means more leadership required. Everything rises and falls on leadership!
Everyone has influence to use for Christ and every member is a minister; but God gives to some the gift of leadership! And its our job as the church to identify and cultivate that gift!
Preaching feeds the church, but leadership builds the church! To successfully multiply worship experiences we must both turn up the preaching, and turn up the leading!
