Momentum is a Leader’s Best Friend.
My friend and leadership mentor, Josh Gagnon says, “CHURCHES THAT GROW IN THE SUMMER, EXPLODE IN THE FALL.”  When a church has momentum life change multiplies and soon we begin to see exponential growth.  Everything just looks better when the BIG MO has your back.  But getting to the point where you have momentum is extremely painful and challenging; there are a lot of personal sacrifices, difficult decisions, church pruning, and vision refining experiences.

When one person invites Jesus Christ into their life, then invites a friend to the weekend worship experience the following week, and that person gives their life to Christ, and their lives begin to change from the inside out as they passionately follow Jesus Christ in their first few steps, that kind of change builds momentum in a church, people get passionate about seeing their family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors come to know Jesus as their Forgiver and Leader!

As a leader, you don’t feel like you are pulling as many teeth to build excitement, the energy just keeps compounding, lives just keep colliding with the gospel, and the city just keeps getting transformed by the Almighty power of God’s Love!

Our mission is to see Jesus made famous all over New England ONE LIFE AT A TIME, and that will happen as the momentum from one church begins to impact and infect another church, and eventually an entire region of churches!! Momentum in one church can actually generate momentum in all of God’s churches in that area if they are intentional about networking, sharing, and completing one another instead of competing with one another.

This month has been a truly amazing time at The Dialogue Church!  We have seen more spiritual fruit and life change in the past 4 months than at any other point in the 3 year history of this young & growing church.  Let me make a few comments regarding this growth.

Jesus Grows His Church.
Jesus + nothing = life change!  (& Life change = church growth).  My mentor and preacher, Anthony Milas, says all the time, “ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS, ITS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT JESUS, AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE ABOUT JESUS.”  The growth we have experienced thus far at The Dialogue Church is not man’s invention, its not my cleverness for it is not my word, but THY word that brings life.  We have a pretty simple system here at theDC (most of which we have stolen and adopted from other kick-butt churches around the country) – we like to live and share Jesus!  As a result, God is changing lives, and when lives are being changed, more and more people become impacted!  But it is all about JESUS CHANGING LIVES – IT IS HIS CHURCH AND HE IS THE ONE WHO BUILDS THE CHURCH.  We just need to trust & obey!

CHANGED LIVES = CHURCH GROWTH
This summer we have been experiencing an amazing move of God.  A good friend of mine, and great leader, Joshua Gagnon likes to say, CHURCHES THAT GROW IN THE SUMMER, EXPLODE IN THE FALL.  And although, no one can plan a move of God, we sure can PREPARE FOR ONE.  So, this summer we are working hard to prepare for a major move of God this Fall.  In the process, we are experiencing tremendous spiritual fruit – LIFE CHANGE!

Here is what I have been learning about church growth: CHANGED LIVES = CHURCH GROWTH.

Nothing attracts the lost more than someone who has just been found.  Nothing attracts the sick, more than a life that’s just been healed.  Nothing attracts the broken, hurt, and empty more than a life that has been CHANGED!  CHANGED LIVES = CHURCH GROWTH.

If Jesus is truly changing lives in and through your church, then church attendance will rarely be a problem!

In the past 4 months we have seen 40 adults invite Jesus Christ to be their Forgiver & Leader.  WOW!  I can’t brag on Jesus enough; He is so gracious, and we are so humbled that as a 3 year old church we get the high privilege of being used by God to impact an entire city, and region for Jesus Christ!  Our sole mission is to lead unchurched people to become hardcore followers of Christ!  And we are seeing that happen on a weekly basis!  We have baptized 15 of those new believers already, and even more have recently signed up for the next baptism party at www.theDC.tv/baptism.
