Changed Lives = Church Growth, Pt.5
ByMove with the Movers.
My friend and world shaker, Mac Richard, says, “MOVE WITH THE MOVERS.” No matter how anointed the preaching, no matter how life changing the worship experience, no matter how loving the life groups, no matter how compelling the vision, there will still be a few voices (typically the loudest) who want to oppose any kind of forward motion, any kind of change, and any kind of challenge presented by the leadership of the church.
When Moses was leading 2 million Jews out of Egypt, there were people complaining about stuff, wishing they could go back to slavery instead of following this man Moses through the desert and into the Promised Land. I don’t always get it, and probably never will – but we as leaders must be prepared to let people leave graciously and move with the movers. We aren’t called as leaders to keep people from leaving, but rather to call people to excellence. We aren’t called to be keepers of the aquarium, but fishers of men.
As a leader I have decided to not be controlled by those who leave but rather to be consumed by those who’ve never come!

I just love this! It is so encouraging to know that “fear” and “doubt” of the unknown that tries to keep me from change DOES NOT HAVE A HOLD ON ME when I put my Faith and Trust in the God of the Impossible! Where I see Limits, He sees Unlimited! Where I see Problems, He sees Opportunity! What a Great God we have!
