How to Invite Your Friends to Church, Pt.1

First, I think we need to clarify something.  We aren’t simply inviting our friends to church. We are inviting our friends to meet Jesus THROUGH THE CHURCH! JESUS IS THE DESTINATION, CHURCH IS THE VEHICLE (Acts 20:28; Mat.28:19,20; Mat.16:18).

Second, we are inviting our friends to meet Jesus through the church because that is the recipe God gives us in the Bible.  Jesus started the Church, He died for the Church, and one day will be reunited for all eternity with His Church.  Jesus loves the church, and Jesus chose the local church to be His only prescribed agent to reach the lost, and usher people back into a loving relationship with their Creator, God Almighty.

Third, we need to understand that people will reject us because people reject Jesus; but that doesn’t mean we stop believing in Jesus, nor does it mean we stop inviting others onto this journey with Jesus. Jesus didn’t decide to SKIP THE CROSS because some people decided not to follow Him.  So, we can’t decide to SKIP THE INVITATION because some people have decided not to accept the invitation.

Lastly, many people will accept the invite and will meet Jesus and experience real & lasting change! Many people will have their forever altered all because you and I stepped up to the plate and MADE THE ASK!
