I Struggle with Originality, Pt.1

I have learned something, “I DON’T WANT TO BE SO ORIGINAL IN MY THINKING THAT NOT EVEN JESUS THOUGHT OF IT.” (by the way, that is an original saying from me, just kidding, well, not really:) I don’t want to be so original that it detracts from the truth of Jesus Christ or the simplicity of His story. I don’t want to be so original that I distract people from the clarity of the salvation message and its daily transforming ability.

To be honest with you, I struggle with wanting to be original. As an artist (that is what I was going to be before I went to school for ministry) I find it tempting to always want my signature on everything, even if it means crossing out God’s name and putting my own credentials on something. I like getting the credit, that is why I want to be original.
